Fantastic restaurant in a lovely hotel This is a restaurant I’ve wanted to visit for a long time and finally got there. First off it’s a really nice comfortable dining room with really nice friendly attentive staff The bar on Christmas Eve for pre drinks was extremely busy and quite noisy ! But ok. The 7 course tasting menu was excellent But our vegetarian diners weren’t blown away with their menu but still good, it is quite pricey with champagne £25 a glass!! And £200 each without drinks , having stayed at Gleneagles before I know the cost is quite above average but it is a nice place And a nice treat for a special occasion. Would I return? Probably not but it is worth at least one visit .

Amazing. The food, the wine and the service were all just amazing. So hard to choose a favourite dish as each one was so delicious. They catered amazingly for my mum's dietary requirements going above and beyond to adapt the dishes but also ensuring they were similar to rest of us.

I found the food very bland and very unimaginative. I also found the food to be on the colder side and was lukewarm at best. I am astounded that a restaurant such as this would stumble at the basics. Do the chefs even try the food before it is sent out? It seems to be a common theme in other reviews. I have had better experiences at one-star Michelin restaurants.

Uninteresting food. Kind of bland and unimaginative and maybe borderline odd - Vanilla sauce for fish? Service was also quite slow. Not up to the caliber of the restaurant it supposed to be. Overall I wish we went elsewhere, paid 1/2 and got better food.

We had booked dinner at Andrew Fairlie during our stay at Gleneagles. I had high expectations and we were not disappointed. The service was attentive and friendly, our dinner felt relaxed and not stuffy. We chose to do the degustation menu, and it was a great experience to try so many courses. The general manager Dale is a real credit to the restaurant and you can see he loves his job, it really shines through. The rest of the team were also great. The service really elevated our experience. I hope one day we are lucky enough to return

It's as good as you hear. That lobster. Oh, that lobster! And the decorations. One of the truly great sommeliers. All staff were great. But a young lad particularly stood out. Alcohol intake made me forget his name but they'll know who he is. Charming, ambitious etc. He quite made our meal. Oh, and spend time looking around all of Gleneagle. A very special place.

Pleasant. But let me tell you when I pay this much for a meal I expect a great deal more than just pleasant. Great food makes you sit up and pay attention. We nearly fell asleep. We came here for a much anticipated belated birthday celebration. The venue is stunning and reviews are glowing, so we were prepared for something truly special, but left feeling truly underwhelmed. Granted, we were quite jet-lagged which ultimately led to us calling it quits before dessert - but staff of Andrew Fairlie, before you dismiss this poor review as no fault of your own, go browse my other reviews. I eat. It's what I do. If the food had been worth staying for, we would have. The meal started well, with the amuse bouche providing all sorts of interesting flavours and served at a decent pace while we got settled in and decided on what to order. We decided to order different things, so we'd get a wider choice of things to sample, as we like to share. Somehow this was a logistical nightmare for the serving staff, as the tasting menu has many more dishes than the a la carte and left me awkwardly eating several dishes alone while my wife had nothing. Not to mention as soon as it started getting busy it took so incredibly long between courses that we actually started to get bored. The mushroom ravioli was rather average, and really tipped us off that the rest of the meal was going to be a disappointment. It was topped with truffles but the flavour and fragrance was distinctly lacklustre. 5/10. The steak tartare was the highlight for me as it actually had good flavour, richness and I could taste the light charring on the outside of the tartare. 9/10 Special mention to the morel with white asparagus. The asparagus was gritty. Otherwise an OK dish. Morel was an interesting texture, and glad I tried it, but it really wasn't great. 6/10 The lobster was prepared in a style I haven't tried before, which was novel, but all I can really say is it was good, but not that good. 7/10 The lamb was so average that I can't actually remember eating it. 5/10 Don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking high cuisine is just too refined for your palette. I've eaten my share of delicate, genteel dishes. Tastebuds don't lie. This was just not the outstanding meal a 2 Michelin star rating should warrant.

WOW one the best evenings I have ever had, can highly recommend visiting if you get the chance. The staff, food and service are beyond expectation and a big thank also for the VIP show round of the kitchen which just completed the experience. Will definitely be revisiting when we return to Gleneagles.

We visited for my wife’s 40th birthday. Restaurant Andrew Fairlie is an absolute gem and must be one of the best restaurants in the World. Service, food and atmosphere are all 10/10. On the 7 course tasting menu, the Lobster course served with Krug champagne is the highlight. I can’t speak highly enough of our experience. It really delivered on all levels and will live long in the memory. A must visit establishment for those who love fine dining and worth the visit to Gleneagles alone.

A really brilliant experience and beautiful restaurant located within Gleneagles. We were excited to get a phone call telling us that a table reservation had become available as the place was booked out for months when we booked to stay overnight. Service was excellent throughout the night, we opted for the seven course tasting menu which was incredible. We were there for almost 4 hours in total. The food was beautiful and tasted incredible, a really excellent choice for a special occasion.

This place has a star for a reason from the moment we arrived we were treated to some of the best culinary delights Scotland has to offer. We went for the tasting menu and wine flight, every course was impeccable with the perfect wine pairing, the star of the show would have to have been the lobster 🦞 perfection!

We used to be great fans of Andrew Farlie but this was one of the laziest meals we have had in a long time. Serving a tiny little turnip as an amuse Bouche is extremely lazy. There was nothing about any of these dishes that we had in the tasting menu that we could not have produced at home. The crab portions were pathetic. We told staff before hand that one of us did not eat cheese and when a cheese course was produced nothing was provided for a none cheese eater so I was expected to eat my course alone. When we complained something was produced but by this point the feeling was lost and we decided to call it a night. The staff were kind but the food was boring and we felt very taken advantage of. When we spoke to the manager he did waive the cost of the meal but that wasn’t actually the point. This was for us a very special evening - our anniversary, which we wanted to be special. What we really felt was that we as customers were being taken advantage of. Left an overall jaded feeling. Gone are the days of imaginative food but not the days of imaginative billing. Not a good reflection on Gleneagles.

The absolutely best dining experience in the whole of Scotland, well worth the trip to Gleneagles alone. The wine pairing was incredible, and the food simply unforgettable, with honest and genuine dishes that will absolutely blow you away. Unreal value for money, if you have the opportunity you should absolutely give it a go.

We had the 7 course degustation menu and it was amazing, loved all of it and all the little tasty bites in between . As it was my husband's special birthday they even did him a yummy chocolate balloon.

This is tucked away inside the Gleneagle hotel ballroom. Very low key location. The setting is elegant but not fancy. Service is constant and well attended. Topping of water maintained. We had the tasting menu. The food is very very good. Can't say it is superb. It is comparable to other similar fine dining establishments. Tables are well separated so the noise level is barely noticeable. Nice experience and friendly service.

There are reasons Fairlie maintains its Michelin star rating. And it becomes obvious from the meeting of front of house staff, thru wait staff and sommelier that you'll be in for a good night. The elegant atmosphere supports what arrives from the kitchen. Exciting flavours, provided by quality locally sourced ingredients. All plated stylishly and presented in a timely manner so that experience doesn't tire as you progress thru course after course. Yes it's expensive - especially the tasting menu with matching wines. But it's a great experience if you can.

Menu hadn't really changed for a while. Canopies not really to my taste. Not sure I will go back for a while, but will keep my eye on the menu.
